The Program for Excellence in Selling is the leading sales program in the nation. Housed in the C. T. Bauer College of Business, it provides its students with a variety of skills and unique opportunities that help them stand out. As a first semester student in PES, I have learned many valuable lessons such as dealing with different communication styles, finding ways to solve people’s problems, and most importantly, how to present my personal brand with confidence.

Merill Lynch Bank of America
As an intern at Merill Lynch during the summer of 2016, I was responsible for contacting client prospects and explaining the firm’s services to them. I was able to fulfill this task by being solution oriented, and using effective selling techniques. During my time at Merill Lynch, I was able to design and implement new sales techniques that increased productivity by over 200%. These sales strategies are now a common practice at the company. Interning at Merill Lynch helped me grow in confidence, prepared me for my future in sales, and encouraged me to pursue my dreams.

Management Information Systems Student Organization
MISSO is a prominent and well-reputed organization in the Houston business community. I joined MISSO in the Fall of 2015, after hearing of the many benefits enjoyed by its members. Throughout my time at MISSO, I have been able to expand my skill set, network with business professionals, and represent MISSO and the C. T. Bauer Business School to our partner companies. I have been able to learn interaction strategies, presentation skills and communication techniques.

As a MIPAL intern at Manske Wealth Management during the summer of 2016, I learned many valuable lessons in leadership, presentation and networking. I was able to be successful in this internship program by taking initiative, leading others and being coachable. At Manske, I had the opportunity to share ideas with business executives, host different community events, shadow financial advisors, and broaden my skill set altogether.
